received the "Laurea" degree in computer science from the University of
Salerno, and the M.A. and Ph.D.
degrees in Computer
Science from Brandeis University.
His research interests
include image compression, video compression and motion estimation, information
hiding, parallel computing and theory of computation.
He has been co-chair,
in 1997, of the International Conference on Compression and Complexity
of Sequences (Sequences'97),
has served as program
committee member of the IEEE
Data Compression Conference.
He is currently Associate Editor of the
journal IEEE Trans. on Image Processing .
