Biographical sketch

foto Autilia Vitiello was born in Nocera Inferiore (Salerno), Italy, on December 12th, 1984.
She received the Laurea degree in Computer Science (cum laude) from the University of Salerno (Italy) in 2009, discussing the thesis "Time Sensitive Fuzzy Agents: formal model and implementation" (advisor Vincenzo Loia).
On April 15th, 2013, she received Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Salerno, defending a thesis titled "Memetic Algorithms for Ontology Alignment". Currently, she is a Research Fellow at the Department of Computer Science, University of Salerno.

Research interests

Her research interests concern computational intelligence, and in particular, fuzzy logic, evolutionary algorithms and knowledge representation theories. More in detail, she adresses:

  • Fuzzy sets and Fuzzy controllers;
  • Memetic Algorithms;
  • Fuzzy Cognitive Maps;
  • Ontologies and semantic interoperability problem.
As for her Ph.D. thesis, it discusses the application of memetic algorithms to solve the ontology alignment problem.
